Florence County is located in Eastern Wisconsin. It is named for the Florence Mining Company.

The seat and largest city are both Florence.

It borders Marinette and Forest Counties in Wisconsin; as well as Dickinson and Iron Counties in Michigan.

Main highways include US-2, US-141, WI-70 and WI-139.
